A private lawyer, Martin Kpebu congratulated the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo on the return to state allowances amounting to GHS 899,097.84 paid to her since 2017.

The recommendations were made by the five-member committee of Professor Yaa Ntiamoa-Baidu created in June 2019 by President Nana Akufo-Addo to make recommendations on the salaries and other gratuities of Article 71 office holders.

The First Lady, Ms. Rebecca Akufo-Addo has also already reimbursed the allowances she received since 2017, the Second Lady, Ms. Samira Bawumia also promising to do the same.
