The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) berated former President John Dramani Mahama for his corruption charges against the Akufo-Addo administration.

Speaking at a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Accra on Thursday, General Secretary John Boadu said Mahama had no moral justification for talking about corruption, let alone accusing the party in the power of the canker.

“Former President Mahama claims without evidence that the NPP stole Ghana’s money and can ensure accountability through elections. Extremely wealthy, coming from a party credited by the Supreme Court of Ghana with the ability to “create, plunder and share” public funds with impunity, “said John Boadu.

Naming some agreements allegedly corrupt under the Mahama administration, he said these agreements define that administration.

“Does Mahama of Government Official One Infamy and the Ford vehicle of Kanazoe Contractors talk about corruption? Is this the same Mahama whose government signed a half-prepared $ 1.2 billion contract for Ghana’s retail payment systems infrastructure? “

“Sibton Switch Systems Ltd just lost a $ 478 million arbitration claim from Ghana for the revocation of this agreement. The Akufo-Addo administration carried out a much more improved project for only $ 4.5 million. $ 1.2 billion to $ 4.5 million, ”Boadu said.

According to Mr. Boadu, Mr. Mahama’s friend Rowland Agambire was at the center of awarding unbudgeted contracts without even approval and prepaid before services.

Mr Agambire, he claimed, used some of the money to buy houses in Dubai and pay media outlets for NDC’s 2012 commercials. His biggest heist was the Sibton contract. The fallout from the briefing was that the contract was awarded at a cost of GHC 4.6 billion under John Mahama, Boadu said.

“John Mahama turned out to be so corrupt that during his tenure as Vice President his boss, the late President Mills, had to set up a committee to investigate the role played by him (John Mahama) in the processes leading to the acquisition of five aircraft. , including the Embraer 190 aircraft and a hangar for the Ghanaian armed forces, ”added the secretary general.

Mr. Boadu challenged Mr. Mahama to back up his allegations with actions.

He said the former head of state can ask established institutions, which deal with corruption and corruption-related issues, to investigate his allegations.
