The Ghana National Union of Students (NUGS) congratulated the winners of this year's National Science and Mathematics Quiz, St Augustine's College, for their exceptional and outstanding performance at the recently concluded competition.
NUGS, in a statement signed by the secretary and president, congratulated AUGUSCO for its sportsmanship and captivating performances.
On Thursday, July 11, St. Augustine's College ended a 12-year drought in the National Science and Maths Quiz National Finals, winning five Presbyterian Boys' High School wins and three-time St. St. Peter's High School.
At the end of the competition, the Cape Coast boys scored 39 points, PRESEC was second at 34 points and St. Peter's followed at 25 points.
NUGS also expressed the hope that the major interest in the annual math and science quiz competition would "refocus and redefine attitudes in strengthening science and mathematics education in Ghana".
