The National Democratic Congress (NDC) congratulated Ghana's police for ensuring that the presidential primaries last Saturday are calm.

The pre-election party indicated that, as part of its security arrangements, it would not use the services of private security agencies, but police services to avoid any unforeseen chaos.

It will also be remembered that the NDC had questioned the integrity of the police department after accusing it of misguiding the shooting during the partial election of Ayawaso West Wougon on 31 December. January.

Seven people clashed in the polls that saw former president Mahama win with an overwhelming majority of 95.23 percent of the vote.

The other six included the second vice-speaker of Parliament, Mr. Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin; former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Professor Joshua Alabi, former Executive Director of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Mr. Sylvester Mensah, former Trade Minister, Ekwow Spio Garbrah , businessman, Nurudeen Iddrisu and the pillar of the NDC, Goosie Tanoh.

Let us trust and avoid divisions – Mahama at NDC

John Dramani Mahama, a presidential candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), urged party members to trust each other to make unity prevail among them.

He also urged party members to avoid any act likely to create divisions within the NDC.

"I hope we will work together and avoid any attempt to divide us. Let us trust and do not believe in the kind of stories we have distributed, which would give the impression of being opposed, "he added.

He dedicated this victory to the NDC members and their leaders for their hard work in bringing the party back to power.

"I will work closely with you all to achieve our common goal of returning to power. I salute all our leaders, "he said.
