You were there to snub the committee investigating Ejura’s troubles – George Loh praises Kaaka’s family

Former North Dayi MP George Loh doesn’t think the committee investigating the unrest in Ejura is doing any good.

According to him, committee members have so far wasted time on issues unrelated to their mission.

Speaking on Citi TV’s current affairs show The Big Issue, Mr. Loh said, “I think Kaaka’s family were there when they decided not to appear before the committee. The question is very basic, why was the committee set up? It was set up to find out what events led to the shooting of these people. As for Kaaka, he is dead, the investigations are underway, what do they want with them then?

“In addition, the case is before the courts. Will they not prejudice the case and the investigations? Yes, we agree that things got out of hand after his death. But what business does his family have with the investigation of the Ejura incident?

Mr Loh also believes that some of the questions posed to Joy News’ Erastus Asare Donkor were unnecessary.

“If he said Kaaka was among the #Fixthecountry protesters, how does that feed into the investigations? The committee is supposed to be a committee of inquiry. Their job is to find the facts about what led to the loss of life, nothing more. ”

“I think the committee has to stay on track if it is to do a good job,” he advised.
