Matilda Asare, a popular Kumawood actress, defended President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo about her comments on the role of women's gender activists in the country.

The famous actress said, contrary to the suggestions that had been made, that the president embarrbaded the country in the eyes of the international community. She believes that the President has been tactful and has explained the facts and realities.

The president has been the subject of much criticism following his comments on the empowerment of women and the role of men and women in Ghana at a round table in Vancouver, Canada.

According to her, the president's criticism was hypocritical, stressing that "no one, regardless of bad, should expect to be offered opportunities on a slogan without working on it".

Matilda Asare, however, spared part of the political divide between the minorities, claiming that their favorite idol, former president John Dramani, would have found himself failing it had been that of the committee.

"We all know that JM has communication problems and tends to be tactless and diplomatic, believe me, he would have embarrbaded this country," said Matilda.

She stated that she felt very stunned to hear some of her colleagues also playing the podium while they "are very aware of the fact that modern feminist activism is not about sit idly by and wait for opportunities "

"We all have to fight to get it if we want to be recognized, the president was right in every way, we can not expect to be recognized if we do not work to get it," he said. she noted.

Matilda further noted "now that people are taking advantage of the government's social intervention policies such as PFJ, NEIP, PERD, among others, we can not sit back and wait for the authorities to give us opportunities, we have to go there and look for them, no matter what kind
