YouTube announces new programming as part of its $ 100 million content creation pledge for children and families

YouTube Originals has announced a new list of programs for kids, families, and educational programs as part of YouTube Kids & Families’s $ 100 million pledge to create content for this section of the audience.

The move introduces the animated series, Super Sema, the pick-ups of eight new additional series including Book Tube Jr., The Eggventurers, The Guava Juice Show, Kid Correspondent, Lottie Dottie Mini, and Millie and Lou.

Super Sema is an African series, produced by a team led by women, which stars a young superhero girl named Sema and follows her world-changing adventures. Fueled by STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) and set in a futuristic African world, Sema, along with her brother MB, uses her “technovation” powers to save her village from the villain and his army of evil robots.

The series will be available on the Super Sema YouTube channel, whose WatchTime hours have increased by more than 40% year-over-year in 2020 compared to 2019.

This new initiative also has twenty-five projects in development, including the titles, Jam Van, an original road trip musical series, and Discussion about the corpse, a lively history show.

The streamer has developed content goals in collaboration with global experts in areas related to child safety, child development and digital literacy, all focused on producing shows that inspire the learning of children. children and discovering their unique strengths and passions while finding their own voice.

Additionally, for the first time, some of the recent YouTube originals for kids and family will be available in other languages.

The 40s scripted mystery series Confinement will launch Spanish dubbed versions of its 16 episodes.

YouTube Originals’ first Korean animated title Pinkfong Wonderstar, will roll out several new language versions throughout the year to join its previously released English and Korean editions. The series has over 30 million views since its launch in December 2020.

2021 will also see the release of Onyx family dinner, which features open discussions about what’s going on in the world over a meal, with weekly guests joining in to broaden the conversation.

YouTube Originals includes scripted and unscripted series and films around the world on music, personalities and learning for fan verticals. The service is available in nearly 80 countries around the world.
