Zack Snyder announces Army of the Dead trailer date

Director Zack Snyder recently announced a release date for the trailer for his upcoming zombie movie, Army of the Dead.

Snyder uploaded a poster for Army of the dead to his Twitter page with caption, “The survivors take it all. [Army of the Dead] sure [Netflix] May 21st. Teaser this Thursday. “The poster shows a bank safe with undead hands making their way inside the safe door, surrounded by falling cash, cards and poker chips.

Army of the dead marks Synder’s second zombie-centric film since his directorial debut in 2004, Dawn of the Dead, a remake of George Romero’s 1978 zombie classic. The film centers on a team of mercenaries, led by Dave Bautista’s Scott Ward, who use the chaos of a zombie outbreak as a smokescreen to fight their way through through a Las Vegas now in quarantine in order to pull off the ultimate heist. The film will not only be followed by a Netflix-distributed prequel film directed by Matthias Schweighöfer but an anime spin-off series co-directed by Snyder titled Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas.

In addition to Army of the dead, Snyder to release his highly anticipated “Snyder Cut” of 2017 Justice League to HBO Max on March 18. The recently released trailer for the film was released on February 14, featuring new scenes and updated character designs, including the debut of Apokolips Darkseid’s rule, a black-costumed Superman, and a showdown between Batman. and Jared Leto. Joker in the Apocalyptic Future hints at Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The new four hour cut will show Justice LeagueSnyder’s story as Snyder originally wanted to tell it before stepping down from his project due to a family tragedy in 2017. Filming was eventually finished by Joss Whedon, although a behind-the-scenes controversy involving Whedon and Warner Bros. led to a social media request to see the film according to Snyder’s original vision.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Army of the dead stars Dave Bautista, Garret Dillahunt, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Raul Castillo, Tig Notaro, Theo Rossi and Ana de la Reguera. The film will be released on Netflix on May 21.
