Zinedine Zidane is ready to reject any offer from Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio.

The Spaniard showed signs of development at the Bernabeu under the French last season but his progress slowed down once Julen Lopetegui and then Santiago Solari took the reins.

As a result, the midfielder was tied to a move away from Real Madrid. Liverpool, among the clubs, would be ready to offer an escape route to the 23-year-old.

But Zidane has shut the door in midfield since returning to Real Madrid.
