According to a statement from Giant Eagle:

“The safety of our team members and our guests is always our top priority. To align more closely with public safety efforts on the South Side while continuing to meet the needs of neighborhood residents, we have made the decision to temporarily change the closing time of our Giant Eagle on the South Side from 10 p.m. at 21h.

“There is currently no end date for this temporary shift. We continue to monitor all developments in the community and will regularly assess the reinstatement of traditional store hours. “

The operational changes follow the new public safety rules put in place by the municipal authorities for the south side. These include closing parts of East Carson Street to only allow outgoing traffic, closing side streets to vehicle traffic, and banning ridesharing services from operating in parts of the neighborhood.
