The New York Giants agreed to an agreement with Golden Tate on Thursday as the team tries to fill the gap created by wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was traded.
Tate agents at CAA Football announced the agreement but did not provide any conditions. It's a $ 37.5 million four-year deal, including $ 23 million fully secured, said a source to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The Giants traded Beckham against the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday as part of a successful contract that upset the league.
In search of an offensive jolt, the Philadelphia Eagles acquired Tate from the Detroit Lions at the trading deadline, late October, for a third-round pick. He had to learn a new system on the fly and the team had trouble integrating the veteran receiver.

The deal paid off in the playoffs, however, as Tate scored the decisive goal for a wild card win over the Chicago Bears.
Tate, 30, plays primarily in the slot machine at this stage of his career. The Eagles have to pay Nelson Agholor, another slot machine receiver, over $ 9 million in 2019. With limited funds and needs in other areas, it makes sense for the Eagles to double inside.
Tate finished with 74 catches for 795 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games with the Lions and Eagles last season, and he also contributed to special teams as a returner. He has had over 90 assists in each of his previous four seasons with Detroit, exceeding 1,000 yards on three occasions.
A second-round pick (60th overall) by the Seattle Seahawks over Notre Dame in 2010, Tate has 611 receptions for 7,214 yards and 38 touchdowns in his nine-year NFL career.
