Giants bring Mike Remmers to the reconstruction of O-Line

The giants seem to have found the last piece of their offensive line puzzle.

Big Blue and Mike Remmers have agreed to an agreement in principle, said NFL agent Brett Tessler on Saturday afternoon, in a widely anticipated move over the past month.

"Glad to announce that Mike Remmers has just agreed in principle to an agreement with the New York Giants and is eager to return to his natural position as a good striker," said Tessler. "In his last two seasons, he helped his teams compete in a Super Bowl and NFC Championship game."

Remmers, 30, had been rehabilitated after a minor back surgery and had spent the last two seasons with the Vikings; including one under the Giants coach (and then the Minnesota offensive coordinator), Pat Shurmur. Remmers also has links with General Manager Dave Gettleman since his stint with the Panthers (2015-2016).

The Giants using only one choice in the NFL draft on an offensive lineman suggested that the Remmers would join the team.

Gettleman has spent his first two seasons rebuilding the offensive line, which includes, besides Remmers, Nate Solder (LT), Will Hernandez (LT), Jon Halapio (C) and Kevin Zeitler, the right-hander of the Cleveland Browns in exchange for for Olivier Vernon earlier this season.
