Giants injury report, 11/11: Leonard Williams, Logan Ryan apologized for training

Defensive lineman Leonard Williams and defensive back Logan Ryan were exempted from Wednesday practice by the New York Giants for personal reasons. The two were due to be involved in meetings on Wednesday and are expected to attend full training on Thursday.

Other than that, the Giants injury report as they begin preparations for Sunday’s key NFC East game against the Philadelphia Eagles is pretty much on schedule.

Running back Devonta Freeman (ankle), wide receiver Sterling Shepard (toe / hip) and tight end Kaden Smith (concussion / non-contact) were listed as limited participants.

Freeman has now missed two games with an ankle injury. In his absence, Wayne Gallman and Alfred Morris seized their opportunities.

Smith, the Giants ‘No.2 tight winger, has become a key part of the Giants’ blocking system in the running game. It also has 12 receptions. If he is unable to fully clarify the concussion protocol, Levine Toilolo will take on an increased role and Eric Tomlinson could be high off the practice squad. Toilolo and Tomlinson block the ends tight.
