Giants pick vs. Cowboys: BBV staff accidentally split to be upset

Can the 1-3 New York Giants, 7-point outsiders by DraftKings Sportsbook, hit the road on Sunday and upset the 3-1 Dallas Cowboys?

Three of Big Blue View’s six contributors making picks picked the Giants in an upset that would make them a factor in the NFC East despite going 0-3.

Here are the explanations for some of the choices.

Chris Pflum:

“It’s always hard for me to pick the Cowboys over the Giants, and New York is coming off a win. However, I’m still not going to pick them until they show me that they can still win matches. The win over New Orleans was fine, but it was also a game they absolutely should have lost – and would have been spared had the Saints taken advantage of their (many) opportunities.

Emily Ianaconni:

“It’s a daring, maybe ridiculous, choice by an ever-hopeful Giants fan. On paper, New York doesn’t seem like it has what it takes to win this game. The Giants are doing their best. performance this season against the NewOrleans Saints, but the Cowboys have elite offense and more than mediocre defense that will likely be difficult for the Giants to overcome … I pick the Giants because I think this is a tie-breaker for them…”

Jérémy Portnoy:

“Last week’s victory over New Orleans prevented a dumpster fire, but the Giants are still not ready to compete with the NFL elite. The Cowboys play a surprisingly competent defense (16th in points per game) and are built to win on penalties, which this game almost certainly will be.

View of Valentine’s Day:

“I shouldn’t be doing this. But hey, I’ve been criticizing Joe Judge all season for being too conservative. So, I’m going to be bold and call for anger. I haven’t managed a Giants game this year, so don’t bet your money based on my opinion.
