Giants stun Brewers again with another impressive comeback win

There is no quitting in the 2021 Giants no matter the deficit.

Led by two points in Milwaukee on Sunday with their pen taxed, the Giants once again found a way to rally, taking a 5-4 victory over the Brewers in the series final at American Family Field.

Brandon Belt, arguably the Giants’ hottest hitter, was not in the starting lineup with southpaw Brett Anderson on the mound for the Brewers. But when manager Gabe Kapler used his first baseman to pinch, he delivered again.

As the Giants trailed 4-2 in the seventh, Belt crushed a two-run homerun from left reliever Daniel Norris for his fourth long ball in the three-game series at Milwaukee.

Belt now has 15 home runs this season, and if he can stay healthy over the final seven weeks of the season, he is expected to hit 20 dingers in one season for the first time in his 11-year MLB career.

Fresh off the injured list Tommy La Stella just like Belt got the nod in the eighth inning, leading Brandon Crawford with a center single.

Zack Littell, recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, recorded a six-out stoppage because Jake McGee and Tyler Rogers were unavailable after both pitching the last three nights.

The Giants lost Game 1 of the series on Friday, and they honestly had nothing to do with winning the last two games, but their never-say-die attitude wouldn’t allow them to fall without a fight.

After a grueling streak in Milwaukee, the Giants have a day off Monday to rest and regroup before opening a two-game streak with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday at Oracle Park.
