Zayn Malik is celebrating his 28th birthday today and his girlfriend Gigi Hadid marked the occasion by paying tribute to him on Instagram and giving their daughter a rare look at their relationship and life as new parents. Hadid posted a gallery of two photos, with an unseen photo of her and Malik, as well as an illustration of him with their baby girl.
“Team No Sleep!” Hadid wrote to him. “The happiest birthday from our Zaddy baba. So special. I have loved you for a long time, thank you for making me a mom for the best girl ever ☺️ I wish you the best every day.”
Hadid and Malik have deliberately kept their relationship more private this time around. The couple have been on the march since November 2015. But Hadid has given more glimpses here and there of her quiet life with Malik. She recently shared a back photo of them kissing on her Instagram Story in December, taken in April 2020:
Hadid also opened up about their relationship during an Instagram Live with her makeup artist Erin Parsons in May. She discussed how Malik would react to her when he saw the makeup she had just done during their IG Live tutorial.
“My man is going to be like,” Hadid put her hands together and smiled. “You know what’s so funny is I don’t think he likes it, obviously when I come home from work, maybe like, ‘Oh that’s an Erin look’ or ‘It’s like. a patrick [Ta] look, ‘or whatever, but he really really like, like, he – how to put it? He reacts the most excited when Erin unknowingly puts makeup on me. He’ll say, ‘Wow, you’re amazing.’ “
In late September, days after their daughter arrived, a source spoke to E! on how parenthood changed the way Malik viewed his relationship with Hadid.
“Zayn was very moved when their baby girl was born,” the source said. “It was an emotional and special moment for him. He said he was changed forever and that he would never disappoint her or Gigi. He wants to be the best dad he can be and he’s so excited.” This source added that despite their on-off history, Hadid and Malik were “in the best place right now” after their baby girl arrived.
