Presidential candidate Kirsten Gillibrand unveiled her plan to legalize the pot and erase all records of non-violent marijuana convictions, she said on Wednesday.

Data showed that blacks were 8.1 times more likely to be arrested and Hispanics five times more likely to be arrested in 2017 than their white counterparts, according to John Jay College's Data Collaborative for Justice .
"These findings and the data that underlie them provide an empirical foundation for the important political discussions underway in the State of New York on the decriminalization and legalization of marijuana, including how to reduce race differences in arrest rates, "the report says.
