TORONTO – Luke Voit got his first at bat in a week when he hit a hit for Brett Gardner in the seventh inning of Wednesday’s 6-5 loss to the Blue Jays – and it didn’t look good .

“There are definitely places for him that make sense and we won’t hesitate to use him,” Boone said. “They just didn’t come last week. But there are games that we love.
Andrew Heaney has been chosen to make way for the return of Jonathan Loaisiga from IL. The southpaw had to approve the move as he ran out of options in the minor leagues and would otherwise have been exposed to waivers. He will go to Tampa, where Heaney will work on the possibility of being a 2022 possibility for the Yankees – although Boone hasn’t ruled out the idea that he could throw in the majors again this season.
