Girl Scout cookies available for delivery from Grubhub

For the first time, Girl Scouts will partner with food delivery service Grubhub to deliver their beloved cookies that its members sell each year to support youth programs and activities.

The partnership will allow the Girl Scouts to securely sell cookies during the pandemic through contactless pickup and delivery.

Those who wish to test cookies and support the organization, but do not know a Girl Scout personally, can also order cookies online from February 1, the organization said in a press release on Tuesday.

“We are proud of the ingenious way Girl Scouts are running their cookie business safely and using their income to make the world a better place,” Judith Batty, Interim CEO of GSUSA, said in a statement this week.

The pandemic-related restrictions on in-person cookie sales have helped girls develop their entrepreneurial skills. They had to “use innovative sales tactics and look to new ways of doing business when things don’t go as planned,” Batty added.

Grubhub will offer cookie pickup or delivery to select cities across a growing list of states including Alabama, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Texas.

Grubhub, often criticized by restaurants to charge them too high a fee to serve customers, waives all of its Girl Scout fees so that the organization earns 100% of the proceeds from its cookie sales, according to the announcement.

“GSUSA is grateful to Grubhub for waiving all costs to the organization in order to make this new delivery option feasible for sales without reducing the revenue from troops and boards,” the organization said in a statement. hurry.
