PETALING JAYA, March 13 – Gmail and Google Drive appear to have been hit by a global outage with hundreds of users from different countries filing crash reports. Up to now, more than 600 minutes have been tabled in the last 20 minutes.

Gmail users have also turned to social media to complain about problems sending emails. Up to now, about 47% of complaints relate to difficulties in sending e-mails.

According to a message posted on Google's GSuite status dashboard, Gmail is experiencing a "downtime".

Although the service still seems to be operational for many users, the outage is widespread. The affected areas up to now are parts of North and South America, Europe and Asia.

The company said it was investigating the problem and that it would soon provide an update.
