Gmail for Android prepares the integration of Google Tasks

[ad_1]

Last April, Google redesigned Gmail on the Web with the Material theme and a number of features such as call waiting, reminders, and smart response. Another effort was to create a new sidebar with widgets for Google Calendar, Keep and Tasks. The integration of Google Tasks could now happen on the Android application.

About APK InsightIn this 'APK Insight' article, we have decompiled the latest version of an app that Google has uploaded to the Play Store. When we decompile these files (called APKs, in the case of Android apps), we are able to see different lines of code in this indication of possible future features. Do not forget that Google may or may not offer these features, and our interpretation of what they are may be imperfect. We will, however, try to allow those who are about to be finished to show you what they look like in the case they are shipped. With that in mind, read on.

Google Tasks integration

On the web, users can drag emails to the right panel of Gmail to create a task. The e-mail is linked for quick access, users can add a date / time reminder, subtasks and any additional relevant information.

The version 2019.04.14.246198419 of Gmail for Android today reveals a chain "Add to tasks" suggesting the integration of Google Tasks on mobile. The hardware theme of Gmail on Android / iOS came earlier this year with visual design and density preferences, with the repeating reminder feature and reminders already available.

However, the process of creating tasks can be done via a conventional button from the overflow menu. After pressing, a message of toast will probably appear at the bottom of the screen to confirm the success or failure of the action, with a link to "See". Users are probably pushed to the Google Tasks application to add additional details.

However, it is possible that Google Tasks opens as a thumbnail window through the existing paradigm of the Gmail add-on user interface, introduced by the company in October 2017. On Android, a bar located in bottom of the screen lists -on. "By tapping, a panel occupying half of the screen is displayed.

How to update?

Gmail 2019.04.14 is being deployed through the Play Store. We do not publish APKs for download directly because of legal difficulties related to copyright and the possibility of deletion. In the meantime, this model is perilous given Android's bundled bundles of apps and Google Play's dynamic delivery.

Thanks to JEB Decompiler, which benefit some disassembling of APK Insight.
