Gmail gets the message planning feature for its 15th anniversary

On April 1, 2004, Google launched its ubiquitous messaging service – on an invitation-only basis – with the promise of secure, fast messaging with impressive storage.

Gmail is now 15 years old, and for its anniversary, Google has announced some service updates via its browser. blog, including the one who users have been eager to use for a while.

Email scheduling

"We want to facilitate respect for everyone's digital well-being," writes the Google blog, "so we're adding a new feature to Gmail that lets you choose when to send an e-mail ".

The goal of Gmail's new scheduling feature is to be able to keep track of your recipient's open hours while being able to write your message based on your own schedule. This feature will certainly be useful for colleagues who communicate from different time zones.

E-mail scheduling will allow you to select a time and date for sending your message, accessible by clicking the arrow next to the usual "Send" button. Although the feature has not yet been scheduled, it's safe to say that it will begin to roll out soon given Google's history of integrating new features.

Smart Compose

In addition to the much-needed scheduling functionality, Google extends its Smart Compose feature to all Android devices using the Gmail app (with iOS soon), and introduces compatibility with four new languages: Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese .

Smart Compose uses learning algorithms to predict common expressions in your e-mail text and subject lines, while offering suggestions for completing your sentences as you type. In the future, this will also include a custom language to stay true to your regular email.
