Gmail has dark mode on your Android phone. Turn it on now

Dark mode is more and more in demand. Before Android did use it, the popularity of dark modes for apps was already increasing, especially in the Facebook Messenger, Slack and Reddit apps. And Apple also follows the trend of dark mode, like iPhone and iPad ($ 249 at Walmart) will also have a dark theme with the release of iOS 13 this month.

The new version of Apple's mobile operating system will apply the theme in general: wallpaper, widgets, notifications, calendar, messages.

With dark mode, you can save a little battery and the screen of your phone will be easier for your eyes at night. Google added first dark mode to an update Android Pie earlier this year, but the theme has not been addressed everywhere. In Android 10, dark mode is much more prevalent and applications using the default system theme automatically adopt the new dark mode when you turn it on, reversing dark and light colors.

1. In your phone's Gmail app, tap the hamburger menu at the top left.

4 At the top of the list, tap Theme.

5 Tap Dark, or if you've already set the dark theme as your default system, tap System. default.
