Gmail is one of the most used products by Google, which means the company likes to have a lot of integrations with their other tools in it. Last year, a redesigned interface appeared for G Suite customers with support for Chat and Rooms sections in the sidebar. Now Google is rolling out an update that allows users to resize these sections according to their needs.

The company claims it will make it easier to keep track of your most important conversations and navigate to chats faster than before. Chat and Rooms sections can be resized by clicking and dragging on the section header to make it larger or shorter, depending on your preference.

While this doesn’t represent any major revolution, it’s a handy addition to have. According to Google, the resizable sidebar sections will be rolled out over the next few days to Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard and Enterprise Plus, as well as G Suite Basic, Business, Education, Enterprise for Education and nonprofit clients.

Since normal Gmail accounts do not yet have access to chat and rooms, this will not affect these users, although that may change in the near future as Chat begins to replace Hangouts completely.
