Gmail offers all kinds of new features, but an upcoming addition could save you a lot of trouble. Soon, everyone's favorite email client will be able to tell you when your grammar will go awry and even automatically fix some of your spelling mistakes.

Similar features have been added to Google Docs earlier this year. When writing an e-mail, what Google considers grammatical failures – say, an incorrect verb or a bad homophone – will be highlighted in blue. You can then right-click on these words to see suggestions on how to solve them.

Note that I will be away from the office low the week.

If you tend to type words such as "definitely" or "necessary", your life is about to become easier. Gmail enriches its spellchecker game with the automatic fix of "common misspellings" – a feature that is obviously familiar with typing on mobile, but which is unfortunately rare in desktop settings.

No more red lines in your emails.

New features should be deployed to all G Suite accounts in mid-September. Google has not yet announced the availability of the usual users, but this stuff is echoing quite quickly.
