The announcement we’ve all been waiting for is finally here! GO Battle League Season 6 has arrived and these changes are huge. I’ll break down this official announcement and discuss the key points that will help you digest all of this new and exciting information.

“Coaches, as mentioned earlier, the introduction of Seasons also brings some exciting changes to the GO Battle League! The GO Battle League will drop from 10 to 24 ranks, and the first four ranks will have brand new names and corresponding badges.

The expanded ranks will come with a completely new reward structure, which gives trainers more opportunities to earn exclusive rewards through ranking. You can also expect the GO Battle League rewards to be tied to the theme of the current season!

The GO Battle League seasons will run in tandem with the Global Seasons and alternate formats over the same three month period. GO Battle League Season 6 will take place during Celebration Season! “


Season 5 rewards, season 6 timeline and what to expect

When season 6 begins Monday, November 30, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT -8), your End of Season rewards for Season 5 will be available on the battle screen, including a Elite ChargedTM if you have reached rank 7 or more.

The dates in the calendar below are tentative and only cover the first half of Season 6. Stay tuned – we’ll keep you posted if anything changes, and we’ll share more details on the second half of the season. season 6 later.

  • The big league will run from Monday, November 30, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.. at Monday December 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8).
  • The Ultra League and his Premier Cup will run from Monday 14 December 2020, at 1:00 p.m.. at Monday, December 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8).
  • The Master League, his Premier Cup, Classic Master League, and Holiday Cup will run from Monday, December 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.. at Monday, January 4, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT -8).

The three leagues and the Ultra League Premier Cup will run from Monday January 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.. at Monday January 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8).


Season 6 timeline explained

As we can see from the announcement, Season 6 will take place in 2 halves. The first half will play out as normal with its standard Great, Ultra, and Master League format, however, a brand new cut is coming to Pokémon GO PvP, The holiday cup.

This new cut will be a Large league format with only Pokémon 1500CP and under which will only allow Ordinary, Grass, Electric, Ice, Flying, and Ghost typing.

We can also see that there is a ‘Classic Master League‘which is a cut that only levels 40 and below will be eligible for. With the new changes to the level cap, Trainers can now power their Pokémon past the level 40 cap and make their Pokémon much stronger.

To eliminate unfair gaming experience, Niantic separates these 2 cups so that “ Master League ” can have Pokémon of any level while “ Master League Classic ” has a limit of level 40 and below, d ‘where the name.

We’re currently unaware of what Niantic has in store for the second half of Season 6, but we can speculate that it could involve some new cup formats or a completely different surprise that we’ll just have to wait and see.


What’s new in season 6?

There are some noticeable changes coming to the GO Battle League for Season 6. The number of Ranks has been reduced from 10 to 24.

You will progress through ranks 1 to 20 by participating in battles and gaining victories. You can reach the first four ranks by hitting a certain grade.

  • Ace: 2,000 reviews
  • Veteran: 2,500 reviews
  • Expert: 2,750 ratings
  • Legend: 3,000 reviews

The rank reward system has been updated. The following rankings will be unique in terms of player progress and the rewards granted on the reward tracks. Once you reach these ranks, you only need to complete one series of battles to advance to the next rank.

  • Row 5: The rewards will be mysterious items.
  • Rank 10: The rewards will be Stardust.
  • Row 15: The rewards will be rare candies.
  • Rank 19: The rewards will be Pokémon encounters.

We can now see that Ranks 21-24 will have their own unique title which is a nice touch for the new system. The new rank rewards system changes the way you receive certain rewards and your ranking throughout GO Battle League. You will only need to complete one series of battles to reach these certain ranks.


Season 6 rewards

Enjoy additional Stardust bonuses for a limited time.   • Legend Rank: You will be guaranteed to meet a Pikachu Free. This will be the only time you can meet a Pikachu Libre during the season.

Double Stardust the bonus for completing sets in GO Battle League will start on December 28 until January 4th. It will be a great way to earn some extra Stardust, especially if you work your way up to the level. 44 which forces you to win 100,000 stardust.

Pikachu Free will return as a reward for coaches who reach the top and achieve ‘Legend‘rank of 3,000 reviews. Along with that, we now know that the featured pose for Season 6 comes from NOT (Harmonia Gropius natural) from the main series Pokémon game Black and white.

The holiday cup

You will be able to enjoy new cups of the GO Battle League! The holiday cup will run from Monday, December 28, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Monday January 4, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT -8). The CP limit for this cut will be 1500, and only Normal, Grass, Electric, Ice, Flight, and Ghost types will be allowed.

That might change later in the future, however, if the level cap has just been lifted, the majority of the playerbase will not be able to fuel their Pokémon above level 40.
