Go behind the scenes of "The Long Night"

So, Inside the episode, whoever?

I think we all need a moment to let this episode of Game of thrones it is THE battle we have organized and it is THE battle that has defined everything. As David Benioff revealed in HBO's behind-the-scenes documentary, "We've been on this path for so long."

As Benioff points out, we met the undead in the very first scene of the very first episode of the series. "This is the culmination of one of the key scenarios in the entire series. And that is for everything.

One of the most exciting and yet most discouraging parts to watch "The Long Night" was the first 10 minutes. It was a slow accumulation of chaos in which we were about to throw ourselves. "There is so much tension before it is possible to meet the enemy." Yah, that's for sure, Benioff!

Benioff stresses the importance of back and forth in this episode because it was largely the battle. It could have been repetitive or boring very quickly, which is honestly impossible to imagine, but it's true. They avoid this by letting the audience believe that things are beginning to turn in favor of the living – whether it be the Dothraki army accusing the dead or Melisandre lighting the trench on fire.

Now, let's talk about LYANNA MORMONT, the real MVP of the episode … well, apart from the real, real MVP. According to Weiss, Bella Ramsay was supposed to be only a character at a scene, and we are so pleased that they have expanded its role. If, if she were to die, at least she could stab a giant in the eyes before leaving!

And then there is Arya. His journey through the whole series brought him to this point, to this battle, to the last moments that blew each one of us. Benioff and Weiss reflect on his shocking end scene and I have trouble writing it because I'm not finished. What the what!

According to Benioff, they knew, three years ago, that it would be Arya who would kill King Night. That was all kinds of unexpected because she was off screen for a while before. The showrunners did this intentionally hoping that the fans would be caught off guard, and damn it, if ever we!

As for Jorah's death, he must go out as he wishes, in Dany's arms. Lord Friendzone may not be with us anymore, but it makes me happy that he is with the woman he loved, even if she did not like him in return.

The characters redeemed themselves this week, the most important being Theon. It was a hot bazaar throughout the series, but in the last moments of his life, he played hard. Said Benioff:

This is the way you face these last moments and he chooses to run straight ahead. I think he dies in a way that makes us really proud of him and the journey he has made.

What. a. episode.

That the new watch starts!
