"Godzilla", a film by Warner Bros. subtitle of the 1950s, reported just over $ 49 million in its North American debut, according to Comscore (SCOR) data published Sunday.
Disney (DIS) "Aladdin", the live reboot of the 1992 animated film, grossed more than $ 42 million in North America during the second week of its release. On the international scene, the film grossed $ 78.3 million for a total of $ 120.6 million over the weekend, according to Comscore.

Rocketman of Paramount, who describes Elton John's childhood and fame, came in third with $ 25 million.

The last few weeks have been lucrative for Hollywood. Last month, "Avengers: Endgame", the Disney and Marvel movies, recorded a record $ 1.2 billion opening, eventually becoming the fastest film in history with $ 2 billion in the world.
The global window benefited from the strong performance of North American theaters, which has increased sales and pedestrian traffic.

And some of the biggest movies of the year have not yet landed in theaters.

Disney is scheduled to release a remake of "The Lion King" on July 19th, which includes a vocal work by Donald Glover and Beyoncé.

Some industry analysts believe that it could be one of the most profitable films of the year.
