Dragon Ball Z protagonist Goku could actually come to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl as a future DLC fighter as the rivalry with Smash Ultimate intensifies.
Goku was one of the most requested characters to appear in Smash Bros., but because he’s from something other than a video game, series creator Masahiro Sakurai was strictly against the idea.
The loss of Smash, however, could end up being the gain of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, as the developers teased that they were open to the idea of Goku joining the cast and fighting with people like SpongeBob SquarePants.
During a chat with Melee pro Juan ‘Hungrybox’ Debiedma, one of the streamer’s viewers inquired about the addition of third-party characters a little outside the Nickelodeon spectrum.
Sakurai was against adding Goku to Smash Ultimate.
Nickelodeon developers want Goku as DLC
“Goku doesn’t belong to Nickelodeon, but Goku made an appearance via Nickelodeon,” the viewer explained.
In the past, Dragon Ball Z Kai aired on Nicktoons, so there is a cross between the two companies.
Developer Thaddeus Crews had quite the answer, stating that “at least initially it wasn’t something we considered or thought at all to be even remotely on the table.”
Goku potentially coming to Nick All Stars in DLC form ?? He appeared on Nickelodeon in Dragon Ball Z Kai, so it doesn’t feel overly stretched. Only time will tell !

However, with the downloadable fighters in development, the tone has changed.
“As for the downloadable content…” The crews began before doing the zipper lip symbol to the camera, indicating that discussions may have already started between Nickelodeon and other companies for Goku to be added.
This is, of course, by no means a confirmation, but if Goku is added it would be a huge deal, potentially comparable to Smash Ultimate revealing Sora as the Last Fighter DLC.
Goku wasn’t one of the characters listed in the big Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl datamine leak, but that doesn’t mean he could still appear later in the DLC cycle. Hopefully we won’t have long to find out if Goku fights alongside the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Aang from “Avatar: The Last Airbender”.
