The day of the legs will have a whole new meaning on the PGA Tour.
The PGA Tour has relaxed its player dress guidelines and will allow golfers to wear shorts during pro-am practices and rounds at its events, starting with this week's WGC-Mexico Championship and Puerto Rico Open.
Golfers must continue to wear long pants during competition rounds.
The shorts of the players must be "length up to the knees, adjusted and neat appearance. The compression leggings worn under the shorts must be solid color".
PGA Tour Players Advisory Council Co-Chair James Hahn announced Monday the rules for casual wear of other players on social media.

Short films will be allowed during practice rounds and events at PGA tournaments; players were allowed to wear them during the PGA Championship practice rounds the previous two years. The European tour brought a similar rule change in 2016.
The best news is that the change of outfit comes just before the swing of the PGA circuit in Florida, which starts with the Honda Classic from February 28th to March 3rd at the PGA National Club, championship course of the Palm Gardens.
Several PGA Tour players, who have long advocated for a change of dress, applauded the new social media guidelines.
the @PGATOUR just announced that shorts are allowed for pro-am rounds and practice rounds. According to the rumor, they saw my assistants in shorts and felt that this movement was necessary. Well done, sir. Good game! ? pic.twitter.com/vGCM36EoEF

In a Live Facebook with Bridgestone in May 2018, Tiger Woods said he was supporting players wearing shorts at tournaments.
"I'd love it," Woods said. "We play in some of the hottest climates on the planet. We usually travel with the sun, and many of our events take place in the summer, and on top of that when we have the winter months here come down to Africa. South and Australia where summer is there.
"Plus, a lot of tournaments are based around the equator, so we play in the hottest places on the planet." It would be nice to wear shorts. would still like to do it. "
In 1999, Woods encouraged the Tour to relax its dress code for caddies. During the Showdown at Sherwood, an exhibition match against world number one David Duval, the caddies wore shorts because it was not an official event.
A rules officer on the tour asked the caddies to switch to the pants, even if the temperatures were around 90 degrees. Woods junior, Steve Williams, refused to change. The circuit official told Williams that if he did not change, he would be banned from cadet on the circuit.
"I guess I will be playing in Europe next year," Woods told the manager.
The tour changed its rules regarding cadet dress in July 1999, after the collapse of a caddy at the Open Open on a day when the heat index had reached 106 degrees.
