Gonzaga completely dismantles BYU, 102-68

The Gonzaga Bulldogs did not have any of these BYU Cougar Couplings at the Senior Night event this time, referring BYU to Provo with their heads up, like a newborn, 102-68.

BYU was able to stay competitive during the first seven minutes of the match, then the wheels fell. After shooting on goal at under five, Zach Norvell hit two consecutive pointers (he finished with 25 points) to give the Zags an 11-point lead, a lead that they would never look back.

If you missed this game, borrow someone's cable IDs, jump on Watch ESPN and spin it, as you'd have a hard time finding a Gonzaga team more fun than the Zags tonight. The fact that this also happened against BYU, the detractors of the previous Senior Nights party in 2015 and 2017, made it even sweeter.

Jay Drew, the drummer of the Salt Lake Tribune for BYU, let his son leave his 15-year-old son on his Twitter account (otherwise I can not understand why this was tweeted).

Where do we start and, more importantly, where do we end? Josh Perkins, in his last game in front of the Spokane faithful, was absolutely perfect, finishing with 21 points and seven assists. He was almost eclipsed by Rui Hachimura, who probably also played his last game in front of the home crowd and finished with 23 points and eight rebounds.

The highlight of the evening, however, came from former goalkeeper Geno Crandall, who, although he only remains one year with Gonzaga, is instantly etched in all our hearts when he destroyed the physical, spiritual body emotional and mental Nick Emery.

You can literally make Gonzaga tonight one of the top 10 Sportscenter titles, and the BYU coaching staff has taken note. The assistant coaches were sanctioned by a technical foul and head coach Dave Rose joined the group on his own, preempting the students by storming the field after Corey's stall Kispert.

Sorry Dave, it was all shot.

TJ Hawes and Yoeli Childs each did their best for BYU, leading the Cougars with 18 points. But there was no hope here. Gonzaga ran the ball with such ease that it was unclear whether the Zags were really as good or whether BYU was really as bad.

The Zags finished with 1.31 points per possession. When you think about it, the Zags' 120 best basketball minutes were played against Saint Mary's and BYU (x2), an impressive feat considering these two teams are supposed to be the other best in the WCC. This year, Gonzaga made them look like the piles of vomit your dog makes after eating his own vomit the first time.

Gonzaga was the most fun basketball team to watch tonight, no ifs or buts. And if the team continues to play as it did tonight, March and the beginning of April will be a scary party.
