The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will not return to network television after almost two decades of broadcast.

The company executives announced the decision on Friday. Leslie Wexner, general manager of Victoria's Secret's parent company, L Brands, said the company had "taken a fresh look at every aspect of our business," according to the New York Times.

According to the Times, the number of viewers in this once popular fashion show has dropped by two-thirds in recent years.

The show has often been criticized for its objectification towards women and has recently been the subject of criticism after its chief financial officer, Edward Razek, spoke of the cast of plus size and transgender models.

The parade aired for the first time in 2001 on ABC.
