The team behind Apple Music remains busy. Among all the services and products of Cupertino, it is the most agnostic on the platform and the one that strives to support Android as best as possible. In recent months, the Apple Music app has added support for Android tablets, Android Auto compatibility and is expected to integrate with Google Maps at some point. Beyond that, it seems that the streaming service will soon be compatible with Google Assistant and Home helpers.

If you go to the list of music service providers in Google Assistant, a new option appears for Apple Music. A pop-up appears when you select it, but typing to link the account does nothing. This is clearly buggy and still not working properly, but it should be up and running soon.

This is not the first time that Apple Music is diversifying: last December, Amazon Alexa and its Echo ranges were also supported. This type of compatibility only makes sense if the streaming service is competitive with Spotify. The Echo and Home speakers are much more popular than the HomePod and Apple would exclude a large part of its potential market if it answered only to the latter.
