This is because these last three apps are so called Sugar Daddy apps. A “sweet” relationship is defined as an incentive camaraderie. A common example is a young woman dating an older, wealthier man, with the man offering the woman expensive items or even money. In this situation, the man would be called a sugar daddy. However, sugar moms also exist, and people who don’t want to put the genre on everything just use the term “sugar”.
Google, however, doesn’t seem to approve of people who get these arrangements through the Play Store. In a new policy shift first spotted by Android Police, Google is putting the hammer on Sugar Daddy applications. The change in terminology includes the removal of “paid sex (ie dating with sugar)”. Google says this category of apps is now under its Inappropriate Content Policy.
As such, unless Google changes its mind, all dating apps with sugar will disappear from the Play Store on September 1, 2021.
Tinder is also a Sugar Daddy, Google app
The problem with Google’s policy change here is that it appears to be too selective. Yes, the Seeking Arrangement app, for example, says it’s a way to find “mutually beneficial relationships.” But that doesn’t mean you couldn’t find these relationships on other apps, like Tinder, too.
Chances are, almost every hot woman on Tinder has been offered a sugar daddy arrangement through this app. Of course, maybe only a few go through with it, but it certainly does. But Google isn’t about to ban Tinder, we’re sure.
Ultimately, this policy change just might be a way for Google to crack down on apps that explicitly pose as Sugar Daddy’s apps. The Seeking Arrangement app doesn’t use the term “sugar” anywhere in its description, so it may not be banned on September 1. Still, if you are looking for a mutually beneficial relationship, you may need to learn how to sideload’s Android apps are coming in September.
