Google Contacts arrives in Gmail for Workspace sidebar

[ad_1]

Gmail’s side panel today offers quick access to Calendar, Keep, and Tasks. Google now offers Contacts in the sidebar for Workspace customers using Gmail.

The blue Contacts icon found on Android will appear under Tasks. It can display email address, phone numbers and other information, as well as their team and manager. If filled in by your organization in the admin console, the desktop and even the location of the office, along with past messages and company history, will appear.

Besides information, the Google Contacts sidebar experience in Gmail will allow you to add / save people and reach them quickly. This added context builds on how you can hover over a person’s name to see more information in the web app today. This somewhat avoids the need for contacts.google.com.

In the side panel, you can find out more about who you’re collaborating with, what team they’re on, and if you’ve ever interacted with them. We hope this feature will make it easier to collaborate and connect with key stakeholders.

This feature is currently being rolled out and will be fully available over the next few weeks for all levels except personal accounts:

Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard and Enterprise Plus, as well as G Suite Basic, Business, Education, Enterprise for Education and associations
