Google Fi does not allow users to call poison control

Considering the quantity of poisonous substances in this world, which can vary from mundane things like nail polish to improbable things like houseplants, it’s pretty important to be able to call Poison control if you are exposed to anything potentially toxic. Unfortunately, if you are a Google Fi user, this may not be possible at the moment.

According to a report by 9to5Google, some Google Fi users would not be able to make their calls to the Poison Hotline (officially called the Poison Hotline) and would receive a message saying, “Your call cannot be ended as dialed.” Users then receive instructions to contact Google Fi customer service. 9to5Google says this issue has been going on for a few months, citing various son users who cannot access Reddit as well as some disturbing experiences.

“I had the same fucking problem a few months ago when my daughter was sick and managed to pull the baby’s top off the baby. [ibuprofen]. Had to call support to answer a bunch of questions, they had to flip a switch while I was bitching because I hung up and tried again and it worked … “a user wrote end of July.

Still, not all Reddit users have expressed difficulty accessing the Poison helpline. Those affected were spread across the country and used both Android and iOS.

The Poison Hotline is a free federal service that connects U.S. residents with local poison control centers in an emergency and allows them to speak to pharmacists, nurses, doctors, or other poison control experts. These experts will then tell you what to do and if you need further assistance.

The Health Resources and Services Administration, which oversees the program, Explain that frequent callers include caregivers of young children. However, the agency maintains that poisoning can happen to anyone, pointing out that most poisoning deaths occur in adults.

Google told 9to5Google that it was aware of the issue and was investigating.
