Google recently confirmed that it had successfully fixed the Spotify music bug on Android Auto, explaining that users would receive it as part of an operating system update.
Specifically, Spotify issues were encountered on Android Auto after updating to Android 11 with several users confirming that listening to music has become quite difficult because the sound suddenly goes from the car speakers to the phone.
And at first glance, the issues appeared after installing Android 11 on devices powering the Android Auto experience, and now Google says that it has prepared a fix for the affected smartphones.
“Thanks for all the reports. We have prepared a patch to resolve this issue. A fix is expected to be rolled out in the coming weeks with an update to the Android operating system. We are unable to share the patch timeline at this time, but will make an announcement when it’s ready,”A member of the Android Auto team said a few days ago.
Interestingly, the Google engineer linked to another thread on the Android Auto forums where Google confirmed that it fixed the audio cutoff on Android 11, so the two issues are most likely related.
So for now, the fix for both issues comes with the November 2020 update for Android 11 devices. Google started rolling out this update a few weeks ago, and now we expect that more manufacturers are getting it ready for their smartphones as we speak.
It should be noted that such a patch is not available for Samsung devices as they are still on Android 10. The South Korean device maker has yet to announce the release of Android 11 for its phones. , so if you have encountered similar issues with Spotify on Android Auto powered by Samsung handset, your only option is to wait a little longer for a solution or just to find a workaround on your own.
