At CES 2019, Philips Hue announced the integration of Google Assistant with its standby and wake up feature. As spring approaches, 'Soft sleep and alarm clock' for Google Home and intelligent lighting Hue launch today.

With this integration, the Philips Hue smart lights will gradually turn off 30 minutes before the scheduled time of your sleep or turn on for half an hour to "mimic the sunrise" in the morning. At night, the gradual change of light aims to improve the quality of your sleep.

"Hey Google, activate Gentle Wake Up" to start integration by synchronizing your alarms in Google Assistant with Philips Hue lighting appropriate in your smart home. Smooth alarm must also be enabled on the device with which you have set the alarms.

In addition to the predefined alarms, users can directly say "Hey Google, wake me up in the room at 6:30 am" to start the process manually. A "Turn off lights in the living room" control will also work to switch to warmer white light tones before fading out. This routine can be started for several rooms in your home and not just for the bedroom.

Gentle Sleep & Wake is launched in English in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore and India. The functionality originally had to arrive in March. It only works with Philips Hue and requires Google Home, Mini, Max or Hub.
