Most of the methods we use to wake up in the morning are shocking and uncomfortable, but Google Home may be able to help you. As of today, Home supports Gentle Sleep & Wake, a feature that integrates with Philips Hue Smart Lamps. Just tell Google to enable this feature, and you can move to the day more naturally.

As its name indicates, Gentle Sleep & Wake acts to wake up in the morning and to go to bed. The lights light up slowly in the morning to wake you up naturally and go out at night to help you go out. Here are the orders for Google Home.

  • "Activate Gentle Wake up" so that your morning alarms are associated with progressive lightening. Make sure to enable Gentle Wake Up on the same Google Home device where you've activated your alarms.
  • "Wake up my lights." You can also say "Hey, Google, wake up in the room at 6:30 am". This will gradually clear up your Philips Hue lights at the moment that you have set and can be adjusted up to 24 hours in advance.
  • "Sleep my lights." You can also say "Hey Google, turn off the lights in the living room". This will gradually dim the intensity of your Philips Hue lights and can be programmed up to 24 hours in advance.

Of course, you will need some Hue lamps to use this feature. The feature is currently available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore and India in English only.
