Google launches a $ 499 Pixel 4a 5G in clear white

In September, Google released an mmWave model of the Pixel 4a 5G that was only available from Verizon. Along with cellular radio allowing access to faster speeds, it’s available in “Clearly White,” although that color is now coming to the unlocked Pixel 4a 5G.

The Pixel 4a 5G “Just Black” is pretty straightforward, except for a light blue lock button. At launch – as with the $ 349 Pixel 4a, buyers were upset with the single color option.

If you wanted a different color, the only choice was to get the Verizon unit. Available in Clearly White with a mint green button, this unit costs an additional $ 100 at $ 599 given the inclusion of mmWave for Verizon’s UW network.

Google said The edge Today, the sub-6 Pixel 4a 5G that costs $ 499 arrives in Clearly White on January 28. It is not yet listed on the Google Store for the order, while a first B&H listing has been removed. It will likely also be available on the Google Fi store.

The Pixel 4a 5G has a 6.2-inch display that’s slightly larger than the Pixel 5. It is powered by a Snapdragon 765G with 6GB of RAM and a 3800mAh. Those last two specs are slightly worse than the flagship phone, but it’s otherwise the same processor. Most important is also the dual-lens setup of a 12.2 MP rear camera and 16 MP ultra-wide. The 3.5mm headphone jack is a key feature, while it lacks wireless charging or IP waterproofing.

Holiday and trade-in shoppers may feel slightly upset that Google has launched a new color after giveaway season, but that won’t happen until around February. It comes as Google is aggressively encouraging people to get the Pixel 4a 5G.
