In terms of I / O, Google has focused on a new account selector for many of its apps, which allows you to easily manage your Google Account and add a private browsing mode to Google Maps in the near future. to Google Search. The selector is already active in several applications, such as Gmail, Contacts, Keep, and it has recently begun to be deployed also in the Google application. Now he is also heading for Maps.

The change in Maps is bilateral. First, the navigation drawer has undergone a small overhaul to remove the Google+ background cover photo (just as Photos had done some time ago), but instead to keep the account selector here, it has been completely moved to the main user interface of the application. You will find it in the search bar at the top right, next to the microphone icon.

Above: New. Below: Old.

Tap the selector to switch to another account, add a new one, manage email addresses on your device, but more importantly, it has the new "Manage your Google Account" option. This quickly opens myaccount.google.com to allow you to change security, privacy, history, and all sorts of settings for your online presence on Google.

However, even though I am on the latest version of Google Maps 10.15.2, I do not have this new interface, the change seems to occur on the server side. We will have to be a little patient.
