Google Material You makeover logo is coming to Android 12

[ad_1]

Android 12’s visual theme is by far the biggest change to the platform, and in Beta 4, Google is still making changes to the Material You implementation. In this latest version, more themed icons have been added and the Google search logo on the pixel launcher is getting a Material You makeover.

The “Theme Icons” option under “Styles” in Pixel Launcher has been marked as “Beta” in the latest version of Android 12, a proper qualifier, since not all apps are supported yet.

However, we noticed that this latest version seems to add more icons. While we don’t have a full list to share at this exact point in time, at least one addition is Google Tasks, and other designs appear to have been tweaked very slightly. The list of supported apps always seems to be exclusively Google apps.

Beyond that, enabling the “Theme icons” option will also affect the Google search bar. This was also the case in Beta 3, but in this latest version the Google logo also incorporates some Material You tweaks, with the logo being made up of the four primary accent colors generated from your wallpaper. It’s a minor, but delicious little tweak.

We’re still digging into Android 12 Beta 4. You can see everything we’ve found so far here, and if you find anything we don’t have, leave a comment below or Contact us!
