Have you ever joined a video call and then realized your camera wasn’t plugged in or your microphone was muted? You may have had to try a few “how do I sound?” prompt before determining which audio input is the correct one. A new “Check your audio and video content” button is added to the Google Meet links landing page. “With this new feature,” the company writes, “you can join meetings with the confidence that your technology is working and that you will present yourself the way you want. [to] other. “You can see a quick overview of your settings and even record a short video clip, which is especially useful for checking if you’re on the right microphone.

Unfortunately, it looks like the new feature is limited to Meet on the web, as the blog post didn’t mention Android or iOS apps. Google says the button should be rolled out to everyone within the next 15 days.
