At the end of July, Google sent out a new round of invitations to join the “Pixel Superfans” community and did so again at the end of last month. Membership is now unexpectedly dropping invitations to a simple registration form to be considered for Pixel superfans.
Before the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Google “opens it even more this fall with more places available!” It offers “insider access” and “VIP experience”:
What do you get when you become a Superfan? You will have access to a Facebook group only for Superfans and other possible perks such as Q&A and private events, opportunities to share ideas with the Google team, limited edition loot, and more that will be announced in the coming months …
We were inspired to create the Pixel Superfans community because we know that many of you love Pixel as much as we do, and we wanted to create a space where we could get to know each other. It has been a pleasure to know everyone so far, and we hope you join this growing community.
Instead of Google – apparently – sending out arbitrary invites to Pixel owners through the Google Store mailing list, there’s now a Superfans signup form you can fill out. It simply asks for your first / last name and your e-mail address. The company then likely examines its records to see which Pixel devices you own.
Note: This Pixel Superfans program is only available to residents of the United States at this time and those 18 years of age and older. For more information on your eligibility, go here: https://pixel-take-the-survey.appspot.com/survey/questions/
An FAQ is available here, with the program still limited to the United States. A recent event involved a question-and-answer session with the Pixel 5a product team following the official announcement of the mid-range phone.
