Darkness is almost upon us. The official launch of Android Q getting closer and closer, Google is still implementing a gray / black theme for its most important applications so that they are ready for the dark mode of the whole system. The latest is Google Pay.

With the application v2.96.264233179, Pay automatically switches to a dark theme when your phone is manually configured to use it or when the battery saver is enabled. There is no switch in the settings, so you must be on Pie or Q to check it. In case you're wondering, it's not an entirely black theme, at least ten of you will complain in the comments; it's a very very deep gray / blue (# 202124).

Dotted-eyed users may have spotted the dark payment screen in Pay in March, but that was only this item. From now on, the entire application is thematic and there does not seem to be any missing menus or poorly colored text. So, the dark mode of Pay seems fully operational from the start.

Google Pay v2.96 is being rolled out on the Play Store. If you do not have it yet, we will update this article with the APK as soon as it is available on APK Mirror.
