Google Pay is getting a dark mode dedicated with the latest update, just before the release of the full version of Android 10, which we expect in the coming weeks.
Version 2.96.264233179 – yes, it's a bite – adds the dedicated dark theme, ready to switch with this dark system-wide mode in Android 10. It will also be applied if you push the rocker battery saver on your phone (via Android font).
Although, technically, this is not an entirely black theme, the deep gray level is more than enough to keep you from the white theme that has been burning on the retina that Google Pay has been using for some time. Hopefully this will improve the battery life for those of you who own a smartphone with an AMOLED display.
AP Also note that some of you may have noticed a dark payment screen earlier this year, but in this case, it is only a part of or a element of the mobile payment application.
This time, the entire application is modified so that there are no janky elements that are not processed in the deepest nuance. Check out the screenshots below to get a closer look at what you can expect from the dark Google Pay dedicated mode.
This latest version is being deployed on the Google Play Store. So be sure to keep your eyes open and update your apps to make sure you have it as soon as it is available. We should see a lot more Google apps updated before the full version of Android 10. So expect to see a lot of your favorites adorned with dark themes in the not too distant future.
