Google Photos is one of the most popular photo backup services. While the free unlimited backup (ending soon) is probably the strongest draw, features like automatic search and albums definitely give it an edge over the rest. Memories are another such blessing and they found even more significance after last year’s redesign which saw it placed at the top of the app. The feature recently started to focus on your favorite people and things, and now gets a new kid-themed story called “Out to play”.
The story is a collection of moments of children playing in the sun, as shown in the pictures below. It’s a warm memory of the days when COVID-19 didn’t stop young people from staying and playing inside four walls.
Memories offers personalized curation of the moments you have stored on the service. In the past it has shown stories of people and the year in review. But given the theme of this story, you might not see it appear in your Google Photos app unless you have kids. If you’ve taken enough shots of them having fun on the playground, expect the app to serve you a memory that will give you warm blurs.
