  • Renderings that would show the unexpected Google Pixel 5a have hit the internet.
  • The phone is almost identical to the older Pixel 4a 5G.
  • We don’t know when this phone will be released.

Google launched the Pixel 5 smartphone in fall 2020, so we wondered if a Pixel 5a might be in the works. Tonight, Steve “OnLeaks” Hemmerstoffer, an internet gadget lover, posted information about the phone from his sources, along with images he said show renderings of the Google Pixel 5a.

The renderings show a phone that in terms of design and size looks almost exactly like the old Pixel 4a 5G. The post claims it will have a 6.2-inch FHD + OLED flat screen. Its front hole punch camera is placed in the upper left corner. The bezels are quite thin but not as thin as high-end smartphones. Check out more images below.

The phone may still have some feedback features that some users may or may not like. History claims it will have a 3.5mm headphone jack and a rear fingerprint sensor. It would also have stereo speakers.

Leaked renderings of the Pixel 5a also show a square rear camera bump with two unknown sensors, as well as a flash. There is also something else in the bump that the tipster says is probably a Phase detection autofocus sensor (PDAF).

There are no details on other important hardware specs, including the phone’s processor, RAM, storage, and its battery size.

It’s also unclear when the Pixel 5a might launch. Considering that the Pixel 4a was announced in August 2020 and the 5G version launched in October 2020, we may have to wait at least a few months for this new Google Pixel phone to hit the market.
