TL; DR

  • According to a new leak, the Google Pixel 6 series is expected to be up for pre-order from October 19.
  • The phones could eventually be released on October 28.
  • There’s still no word on an official launch date, but a September reveal seems unlikely.

According to information obtained by the tipster, Google will open pre-orders for the Pixel 6 series on October 19. The phones would eventually go on sale and arrive in stores the following week, on October 28.

Prosser says these details come from a few of his best sources in the industry. That doesn’t necessarily mean that the recently announced September 13 launch date on Weibo is completely out of the question. The Pixel 5 was also announced in September of last year. However, if the pre-order date of October 19 is correct, as Prosser points out, it could very well be the day Google announces the Pixel 6 duo.

Alternatively, if Google makes the new Pixels official in September, that would mean a one-month wait for buyers who want to pre-book the devices. The company usually doesn’t have such a big gap between smartphone announcements and market availability.

Nonetheless, with this new leak, it looks like Google will be waiting for the new iPhone 13 series before releasing its flagships. But we won’t know for sure until we hear from the company itself. The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are expected to be available in at least those eight countries at launch. Visit our dedicated rumors hub to learn more about the phones.
