Google manufactures more hardware than in the past and has therefore naturally considered opening retail stores from time to time. The company purchased refit containers and refurbished lofts, only to cancel its plans. The only initiatives that have succeeded are some ephemeral stores. Last year, we learned that Google was about to open its first permanent flagship store in Chicago. Now, it seems that the agreement has failed.

At the latest news, Google was in the final stages of negotiations to open a 14,000-square-foot, two-story retail space in Chicago's booming Fulton Market neighborhood. He would have been a few blocks away from the Google offices in Chicago. The Chicago Tribune now reports that the deal is canceled. He does not know why Google has decided to go there. It is unclear whether Google has completely cooled down before opening a retail store or looking for other locations. The company declined to comment on the reports.

It makes sense that Google wants to have a retail business. It produces popular devices like Nest Cameras and Google Home Speakers. Pixels are less popular, but are among the best Android devices available. Third-party retailers do not show Google's devices as well as Google could do in their own space, but retail is often a financial pitfall. You may have to deal with ephemeral stores and Google's limited presence in established channels such as Best Buy.
